This internet site explains the history and organisation of the Hospices Civils de Beaune which have, since their foundation in 1443 by the Chancellor Nicolas Rolin, kept their doors open to everyone without interruption.
This institution, unique in its historical and wine-producing heritage, is closely connected with the economic life of the region.

The Château de La Rochepot has been standing on its rocky peak since the 13th century. On the surrounding grounds, the visitor can see the ruins of the castle which originally occupied the site and was built in the 11th century by Alexander of Burgundy.
A day's visit to this splendid fortress-castle offers a fascinating trip through the history of the Middle Ages.
Many of our guests stop over in Paris on their way to Burgundy and ask us for our favorite place to stay. We've done our best, but hadn't found any places that met our standards for vacation rentals... until now.
We are now more than thrilled to recommend L'Atelier des Beaux Arts. Located near the Luxemburg Gardens, it is a great base for exploring the city of lights and is equipped with all of the modern amenities of home.

If mustard hails "from Dijon," it is because this Burgundy city possessed the ideal conditions for cultivating, manufacturing and launching it.
A great site by one of the company producing the golden condiment. History of the company, recipes, addresses of the stores in Dijon and Paris.
